This is a relatively new area for the company. The two maps currently available relate to ICT, Datacentres and relevant infrastructure in Ireland.

1. Ireland – Major Information Communication Technologies (ICT) Facilities Map

2. Ireland – Datacentres and Supporting Infrastructure.

  • 1st Edition November 2017 This map shows the location and operator of Irish Datacentres. This is shown in the context of their connectivity with the rest of Ireland and the outside world. This is achieved by illustrating the wholesale fibre network and the submarine cables linking Ireland with Britain, Europe and USA. The map also shows the Metropolitan Area Network Areas (MAN) and their connectivity. This illustrates the areas within Ireland which could support Datacentres. As data centres are large energy consumers The Irish Electricity Grid is shown in the background. Researched and Produced by La Tene Maps

  • This is our first map on the Irish ICT sector. It has three main strands - Hardware, Software and Systems/Networks. A series of nineteen different symbols were constructed to illustrate the different categories shown on the map. For example in the hardware section there are different symbols for Computers and peripherals, Radio/Tv and Mobile phones. Each site is shown by symbol at its location together with the site operators name. The clustering on this map around urban areas is very noticiable and insets are provided for busy areas of the map.
