Electricity Generation and Transmission (including Renewables)

La Tene Maps is pleased to announce that the 14th annual edition of the “Scottish Energy Map -Electricity Generation and Transmission ( including renewables) is now available.

This map shows the distribution of electricity generating assets (conventional and renewable) against a background of the electricity transmission and distribution networks in Scotland. The map only deals with projects that are over 1MW in size. The technology types are differentiated by color symbol and those that are operational, under construction and planned (consented) are shown. Attached to each symbol are the operator and generating capacity. Technologies dealt with include wind, wave, tidal stream, hydro, solar PV, landfill gas, sewage gas, biomass, and biogas together with conventional fossil fuel electricity generating stations.

All these are shown against a background of the Scottish Electricity Grid from 33-400KV, this includes transformer stations. For Offshore renewables, all Crown Estate lease areas are shown for offshore wind, wave and tidal. The 2018 edition of the map has its first public distribution at the All Energy Conference and Exhibition in Glasgow on the 2nd and 3rd of May.

The map is B1 size (700 x 1000mm) and are A version of this map without advertising is printed on demand or available as a pdf file. The datasets behind the map are available to purchase.

This is testament to the growth of renewable energy in Scotland. This year sees a growth in SolarPV projects and the addition of floating wind projects as well as the continued growth of wind and hydro projects”
